Labour’s manifesto for the General Election promises they will not increase income tax should they retain power – but they make no such guarantee for Value Added Tax (VAT).
It’s hard to see how they could even contemplate yet another rise in income tax and hope to win the election so that’s hardly a surprise, but potential increases in VAT could cost us alla huge amount so every penny would count.
Now that the new income tax rates have gone live, it’s worth getting your tax code checked to ensure you’re not paying too much – and claim back any tax refunds you may be due already.
