Are you a UK citizen? Do you work in the UK? Do you pay your taxes? If the answer to the above questions is affirmative, there are chances that you may be due a tax refund.

A taxpayer becomes eligible to claim tax back when the amount paid exceeds the tax liability. There are numerous reasons why a taxpayer may be due a tax rebate, but even if a single condition is met, you may be eligible to claim something back from HMRC.

How to determine your tax refund amount?

In order to check the amount of any rebate for which you are eligible, you can check your P45 or P60. These are important documents that will be given by your employer. Your P45 and P60 will have information about your earnings and the amount of taxes you paid during a tax year.

You just need to enter these values into a tax refund calculator, click on calculate and there you go. This will provide you with the details of the amount you should be able to get. If you want the tax rebate process to go smoothly without much hassle, ensure that you provide all the necessary documents.
