There are many people in the UK who are not aware of their rights regarding taxes. Many people are entitled to a tax rebate, but they are not aware or have not been informed about the possibilities. Many individuals who work under the pay as you earn (PAYE) system are entitled to a tax refund but are not aware of the fact.

One must always keep a track on amount of tax being paid, because sometimes you can be the one who will bear loss in the process. These days, every penny counts.

How reliable is the PAYE system and what is the possibility of getting a tax rebate?

People on the PAYE system get their pay slips and trust what is on them. But not all pay slips are accurate since it is difficult to keep a track of so much information.

The PAYE system works well considering the fact that there are millions of people using it and it is also true that most do not face any kind of problems. However, in some circumstances, payments might not be correct, so you must not take any risk. If you feel there is some kind of inconsistency in your tax payments, you must check your tax payments as there is a possibility you might be due a tax rebate.

Getting a correction made can take some time, but you will find it worthwhile, because at the end of the day, it is your hard earned money.
