Christmas is just around the corner and this is usually considered one of the most expensive times of the year. There is a lot to pay for at Christmas because of all the activities that are pencilled in for the next few months. Then there is the holiday season, food and drink, Christmas presents and so on.

Christmas becomes even more demanding on your wallet when you are not in work. Losing your job or being made redundant puts you in a tricky situation at the worst of times if you haven’t got yourself back into work by the time Christmas comes along. If you can bridge the gap with some form of income in the meantime then you’ll be able to face this expensive time of year much more readily.

That means claiming tax back if you find that you are owed given the change in circumstances surrounding your professional position. Tax refunds when they are received in good time can help you to afford to get by in the run up to Christmas so that you don’t notice the struggle quite as keenly when you are in need of extra funds.
