Paying too much tax is obviously something that you don’t really want to get involved in. Nobody actually wants you to pay more tax than you are able to afford, because is not what the taxation system is built on. The whole structure rests on a delicate framework of rules that stipulate how much tax someone ought to contribute according to the earnings they bring in from paid work.

However, this framework is sometimes undermined by mistakes. The mistakes do not have to be big ones and they don’t have to occur often in order to have a really big impact. People are finely tuned to make the most of their earnings and so any shortfalls are felt very keenly.

It is good to know that you have somewhere to turn when shortfalls do occur. You do not have to sit there and swallow the fact that you are paying more tax than you are supposed to be. You can talk to professional tax claims agencies about the best way to claim tax back so that you can have tax refunds put back into your account.
