A number of things stop people from claiming tax back even when they are fairly sure that they are owed some money. First of all, they may not actually know how much money they are owed. They may have carried out a rudimentary investigation by themselves by looking at their tax paperwork and come to the conclusion that something is quite right, but they may not be able to put a figure on it.

Secondly, they might not actually be sure of their own work on the matter. They may feel that the miscalculations they have detected could be attributable to something else they don’t actually know about. A lack of confidence explains why many efforts to claim to tax back are not carried through right away.

Thirdly, it is possible to be put off claiming tax back because you believe it will be a major hassle and you are not prepared to put yourself through it. However, the truth is that none of these issues should stop you from investigating further. You can solve them all quickly and easily by having a claims agency take charge of your claim so that none of these problems take effect.
