The previous post began addressing the difficult matter of losing your job when you simply cannot afford to. This is a situation that many people have found themselves in recently because of widespread cut backs in a range of different professional sectors. We have already stated that you chief concern is likely to be applying for different jobs and finding something you are qualified to do as soon as you can, but there is another priority in this event.

Tax rebates have to be among your main priorities because tax rebates can help to make it much easier for you to afford to be out of work for a short spell. Your final pay packet may not last you a terribly long time and while you can tighten your belt somewhat you are still likely to have considerable outgoings.

Losing your job often means that you have paid more tax for the tax year than you should have paid because your employment has finished early according to the model for the entire year. Tax rebates enable you to claim back the amount you have overpaid and this can help you afford to get by in the meantime.
