Stats from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs reveal that income tax revenue has DOUBLED – rising from £69 billion in 1997 to an expected £134 billion in 2010.
The take from National Insurance has increased similarly, rising from £47 billion to £98 billion in the same period.
